Abstract

Environmental problems have become a global issue since the end of World War II. Thus, the international world holds conferences that pay special attention to environmental issues, especially climate change which has a broad impact. Indonesia has an important role in the issue of climate change because Indonesia has the third largest tropical forest in the world. REDD+ was created to establish cooperation between countries to maintain environmental stability, involving developed countries as contributors of funds to developing countries that still maintain their forest areas. This research aims to look at the factors that hinder the implementation of REDD+ in Indonesia using ecological justice theory. With this theory, we look at the involvement and cooperative relationships that exist between the government and society in implementing REDD+ in Indonesia. Based on this series of research, the factors hindering the implementation of REDD+ in Indonesia in 2010-2021 are the distance between the government and society, especially in policy formulation and implementation, uneven access to information, weak policy enforcement and decentralization. Keywords : Environment, REDD+, Ecological Juctice, Indonesia
