Abstract

Leprosy disease represents the disease generating complex problems, the problems are not merely from medical aspect but also extending of social problem. Though there is degradation of prevalensi number, new case remains pop out. this matter if because'of the existence of negative social stigma which becomes especial spraging in eradication of leprosy diseaase to leper. Existing fact of phobia problem to leprosy is still high enough, society is not yet able to accept the leper attendance or ex-leper in the middle of their life. This research aims at knowing varios factors (education, knowledge, attitide, and belief) which deal leprophobia. this research was conducted in society of RT 29 Silaberanti Chief of village and used the analysis survey with cross sectional device. This reserch samples were amount to 75 responders taken by Simple Random Sampling technique. Data collected was in the from of primary data (kuesioner) which later on processed by using computerized system and analysed by univariat and bivariate. Based on statistical result by chi'square gotfromfourth accurate independent variables, one of them is not related to the leprophobia that is education p=0,084 (p<0,05) while knowledge p:0'000 (p<0,05), attitude p=0,025 (p<0,05) and belief p=0, 0I3 (p<0,05)are related to leprophobia. Suggestion from this research is that there must be intensive counseling to increase society knowledge concerning about leprosy and alter the negative respon of society to leper.
