Abstract

This research aims to determine the characteristics of physical board particles based on the mixture ratio of Empty Fruits Bunches (EFB) and adhesive, thickness and pressure. The board particles are made from a mixture of Tankos fibers with 30% adhesive added. Each board particle has a different composition. In this study the independent variables were variations in the composition of Empty Fruits Bunches fiber and each treatment was 1:1, 1:2 and 1:3 with various board thicknesses of 1 cm, 2cm and 21/2 cm. and with pressure reaching p;25 and p;50 for each treatment. The related variables are physical properties such as density, type of mass, and thickness expansion as well as mechanical properties such as compressive load strength. In general, the calculated average value for density reaches 0.173 g/cm3.
