Abstract

The waters of Ketapang District have calm water conditions with a substrate type that is suitable as a place for seaweed growth. Halimeda is an important genus of green algae. This species is widespread throughout coral reefs in subtidal areas, forming large populations. The aim of this research is to analyze the diversity of Halimeda species and their relationship with water parameters on the islands of Seram Besar and Seram Kecil. This research will be carried out in October 2023 using an exploratory survey method. Sampling will be carried out using plots measuring 15 x 15 meters and inside There are 3 sub plots placed randomly, the sub plots measure 100 x 100 cm. The total number of Halimeda species found in both locations was 7 Halimeda species. The types of Halimeda found on Seram Besar Island are Halimeda macroloba, Halimeda opuntia, Halimeda discoidea, Halimeda tuna and Halimeda cunneata, and on Seram Kecil Island, namely Halimeda macroloba, Halimeda discoidea, Halimeda cylindracea, Halimeda simulans, Halimeda tuna. PCA analysis at station 1 of Seram Besar Island, the dominance index is negatively correlated with the pH parameter. At station 3 the results of the PCA analysis show that the diversity and uniformity indices are positively correlated with the temperature and salinity parameters and DO. On Seram Kecil Island, at station 1 the uniformity and dominance indices were positively correlated with temperature parameters.
