Abstract

The city of Palembang is a city surrounded by rivers which is an alternative for economic distribution. In the area close to the river, there are many traditional markets that have been around for decades. However, currently many of these markets are in unsuitable condition due to a lack of preservation of the buildings and areas. In the city of Palembang, specifically in the 7 Ulu sub-district, there is a market that is active to this day. However, in practice, many traders open their stalls and eat up the shoulder of the road. Currently, the absence of existing buildings that accommodate the main market activities makes this area look shabby and disorganized. Many of the facilities that are supposed to support activities in the market are inadequate. Apart from that, several facilities that should have been there were not found as sellers shifted to opening spill stalls. In order for the 7 Ulu Clinic Market to function properly again, there needs to be a redesign of the facilities and buildings so that they can function as a forum for sellers and buyers in this market. So, comfort in trading and transactions will be created. The activities that will be accommodated in this building are divided into 3, namely sales, purchasing and management. The main building will be made according to the standards of a building intended for markets, equipped with service and management areas. This arts building will carry the concept of flexibility and 24-hour living with a wide-span structure and utilities arranged in the area.
