Abstract

This study aims to measure the financial performance of Muara Enim Regency before and after regional expansion with Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir (PALI) regency. This study which is a descriptive qualitative research, used analysis of data based on Muara Enim’s Realization of Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget Report in 2010-2012 budgeting year before expansion and 2014-2016 budgeting year after expansion. The results of research shows that in the financial independence ratio before expansion is 7.32% and after expansion is 9.27%, which is mean it’s in the same low category. For compatibility ratio shows the priority of expense is used for regular expense rather than for development expense. Afterwards for the efficiency ratio, it’s categorized in the same category which is less efficient. The result of effectiveness ratio included in very effective category with 113.25% before expansion and 96.39% included in less effective category after expansion. And for growth ratio before expansion shows positive growth with 16.51%, meanwhile after expansion with 14.09% means a negative growth.
