Abstract
Swamp lands in Indonesia play a very important and strategic role in agricultural development, especially in light of rapid population and industrial growth, as well as the reduction of fertile land due to conversion to non-agricultural uses. The aim of this research is to study the impact of improving micro water management and soil fertility to determine the suitability design for rice cultivation in typology B land in Sri Mulyo village, and to observe the effect of liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on the productivity of rice plants in typology B land in Sri Mulyo village. The research on improving micro water management and soil fertility for rice productivity was conducted in tidal overflow type B land in Sri Mulyo Village, Air Salek Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. The method used in this research is the survey method with direct field observation. Peischaal boards were installed in tertiary channels while well pipes were driven into the research land. The conclusion of this research is that the fluctuation of groundwater levels follows the same pattern as the fluctuation of water levels in the channels, where an increase or decrease in water level in the channels is followed by a similar change in groundwater levels. In terms of production results, Karwan and Karsono had the highest yields, indicating better productivity, while Dede and Rahman had the lowest yields, indicating possible constraints on their land. This data is important for further evaluation of agricultural practices or land conditions. Keywords: Rice, Swamp, Water
