Abstract

In the era of rapidly developing technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) Network is one of the main applications driving the evolution of the Internet towards the Internet of the Future. LLN (Low Power Lossy Network) is an IoT network that has limited power and also has a low bandwidth which can make excessive energy usage and inappropriate data packet delivery a problem that often occurs on this network. So, this research is conducted to overcome the problem of excessive energy usage and also the delivery of data packets that are not in accordance with what is received. Using the Lion Optimization Algorithm (LOA) method can help create a Cluster Head that will be the route for the sender node to send data to the sink node gradually which will make the data transmission close gradually without using excess energy. There are 2 parameters that become the reference in this research, Average Power Consumption, and Throughput. The results after using the LOA method, the average energy usage becomes less by 6928.2 mJ which means it can save energy expended. The Throughput value after using LOA becomes 1,027 kbps (Kilobit Per Second) which means that many packets are received which increases the delivery of appropriate or successful data packets from the sender node to the sink node.
