Abstract
Fusarium oxysporum is one of the soil-borne pathogens that is able to cause damage to plants with an attack intensity of up to 35%. Farmers still use synthetic fungicides to eradicate them. The use of synthetic fungicides has a negative impact on the environment. One of the alternative efforts that can inhibit the growth of Fusarium oxysporum is by utilizing bacteria as antagonistic agents. One of the bacteria that can potentially act as an antagonist agent is Actinomycetes. Swamp land has several types of microbes, one of which is actinomycetes. Actinomycetes are among the largest groups of microbes that have the potential to produce metabolite compounds. The purpose of this study is to find out what actinomycetes from swamp soil have the potential to be antagonists to the growth of Fusarium oxysporum. The results of this study obtained 2 isolates that have the potential to be antagonists, namely ACT4 and ACT5 isolates, with percentages of 50.76% and 55.38%. The characterization results showed that ACT4 isolate was suspected to belong to the genus Streptomyces, and ACT5 was suspected to have similarities with the genus Nocardia.
