Abstract
ARI (Acute Respiratory Infection) is an infectious disease that attacks the upper and lower respiratory tract and often affects children under five. Characteristics of toddlers and environmental conditions have a tendency to be risk factors for the incidence of ARI in toddlers. The purpose of this study was to determine the distribution and frequency of the incidence of ARI in toddlers due to haze spatially based on sub-district areas in Ogan Ilir Regency, South Sumatra Province in 2023. This research is a descriptive study with an ecological study design that uses secondary data and is analyzed spatially. The results showed that the incidence of ARI in children under five in Ogan Ilir Regency in the period 2023 had a high incidence and was centered in the northern region with areas that were close to each other. The distribution of ARI disease in children under five based on individual characteristics in the form of age and gender as well as environmental conditions, namely hotspots, wind direction and the Air Pollution Index (API) has a positive trend. Meanwhile, the environmental conditions of population density have a negative trend. Meanwhile, the reach of health services in Ogan ilir Regency has been evenly distributed in each sub-district. So it is hoped that the government and related stakeholders can work well together to break and overcome the chain of occurrence of ARI in toddlers.
