Abstract

Traffic accident one of the major public health problems globally. Application of safety riding behavior is one of the effort to avoid the occurrence of traffic accidents. The purpose of this research is to analyze the factors related to the safety riding behavior on high school students number one Kayuagung year 2018 based on gender, knowledge, experience, perception, availability PPE, ownership of SIM C, family support, peer support, and teacher support. This research based on quantitatif to the design of cross sectional study. The population in this research is a high school students number one Kayuagung that riding a motorcycle and the amount of samples as many as 106 students. The technique of sampling done in proportionate stratified random sampling. Data collecting tool in the form of a questionnaire and observation sheet. The data analysis done is univariat, bivariat with statistical test of chi-square, and analysis multivariat with test multiple logistic regression prediction model. The research results obtained so that there is a correlations between gender (p-value = 0,014), perception (p-value = 0,032), availability PPE (p-value = 0,002), ownership of SIM C (p-value = 0,038), peer support (p-value = 0,000), family support (p-value = 0,000), and teacher support (p-value = 0,004) and behavioral safety riding on a high school students number one Kayuagung. Multivariate test result obtained so that the most dominant variable was related safety riding behaviour is ownership of SIM C (p-value = 0,015). Research advice is expected of high school number one Kayuagung make regulation forbidding its students to carry a motor without any SIM C and coordinate with the police to provide intensive socialization using video and leaflet media about safety riding.
