Abstract

Innovation is an idea, method or something that's new but it is not always the result of current research. Innovation are still rarely to applied by farmers such as improved rice cropping index such as cropping index 200 (IP 200). Pelabuhan Dalam Village Pemulutan District Ogan Ilir Regency is one of the villages that using farming innovation of IP 200 in Pemulutan District Ogan Ilir Regency. Using of IP 200 innovation is a program to planting twice a year which aim to increase the intensity of rice cultivation within a period of one year. Lowland rice farming activities is done by farmers of IP 200 in the village Pelabuhan Dalam Village Pemulutan District Ogan Ilir Regency using labor force came from within and outside the household. To meet the needs of the household, a lot of lowland rice farmers to allocate of household working time outside of lowland rice and allocate of working time on non-farming activities. The purpose of this research are to 1) analyze the impact of using agricultural innovation on household working time allocation and income of lowland rice in Pelabuhan Dalam Village Pemulutan District Ogan Ilir Regency, 2) analyze the factors which affect the household working time allocation of farmers who used IP 200 farming innovation in Pelabuhan Dalam Village Pemulutan District, and 3) analyze the factors that affect the income lowland rice farmers who used who use IP 200 farming innovation in Pelabuhan Dalam Village Pemulutan District Ogan Ilir Regency. The results of t-test two different median values for two independent samples obtained result of household working time allocation with t-count of 5.669 and the value of the probability (P-value) of 0.000, while the results for farming income show results t-value 8.323 and the value of the probability (P-value) amounted to 0.023, where both these results indicate reject of H0, which means that the impact of using innovation to household working time allocation and income of lowland rice farmer in Pelabuhan Dalam Village. Factors which are real positive affect on the household working time allocation lowland rice of farmers who used IP 200 are farming income, non farming income, and age. Factors not real effect are the other of farming income, education, and number of family members. Factors that positively affect income lowland rice of farmers who used IP 200 are age, land size, and farming experience. Factors that not real affect to income lowland rice of farmers who used IP 200 are household working time allocation, and number of family members.
