Abstract

In carrying out mining activities PT. Edco Persada Energi has opened 2 pits, of which only pit 2 is currently operating, while pit 1 has entered the post-operation stage, before operating PT. Edco Persada Energi has designed the final mining limit (pit limit design) for pit 2 using Minecraft software which functions as operational security control. To maximize mining recovery, it is necessary to optimize the existing pit design so that it is hoped that the amount of mined reserves can increase. This research carried out this design using slope geometry as a reference obtained from the company, but the slope of the slope will be optimized using Minecraft 5.7 modeling software. With the observation that the optimization carried out in engineering geology factors is the slope slope, for the high wall using a slope of 68° for each level and a slope of 420 for the whole. The results of optimizing using a 68° slope towards the highwall had an impact on openings at the bottom of the pit expanding from previously only 21.93 ha to 24.56 ha, so that the reverse coal obtained was more optimal without ignoring the safety factor of the slope. The total coal obtained using a 68° slope was 1,583,273 tonnes, and the difference in coal produced from a design using a 68° slope was 182,445.9 tonnes. so that the optimization results contribute 9% of the total reserves of 2 million tons. The results of the slope stability analysis for the company's recommended slope with a slope of 510 have a very good safety factor in various conditions with the lowest safety factor of 1.2 and the stability of the slope as a result of the redesign using slope 680 has the lowest safety factor of 1.09 with various slope conditions and therefore the redesign using a slope of 680 is still safe to do.
