Abstract

This study aims to investigate the role of self-compassion in fear of failure among students who experience delays in completing their theses The hypothesis posited in this research is that there is a significant relationship between self- compassion and fear of failure among students facing thesis completion delays Respondents for this study consisted of 311 sentor-level students who were delayed in completing their theses Purposive sampling was employed as the sampling technique The measurement tool used to assess the fear of failure variable was a scale developed by the researcher, referencing aspects from Conroy's (2007) fear of failure framework. Similarly, the measurement tool for self- compassion was developed by the researcher, drawing upon aspects from Neff's (2003a, 2011) self-compassion framework Data analysis in this study wulized simple regression analysis The results of the correlation analysis indicated an R square value of 0.683 with a significance level of p=0.000 (p<0.05) This suggests a significant role of self-compassion in influencing fear of failure Therefore, the hypothesis proposed in this study is accepted Keyword: Self-Compassion, Fear of Failure
