Abstract

Di Indonesia, terdapat 21 juta hektar lahan gambut yang tersebar di Sumatera, Kalimantan, dan Papua. Penelitian difokuskan di Kabupaten Merauke, Papua Selatan, yang merupakan daerah rawan kebakaran hutan dan lahan, untuk membuat peta zonasi dan menganalisis faktor dan hubungan antara ENSO dan IOD dengan kebakaran hutan dan lahan. Metode penginderaan jauh menggunakan berbagai teknologi untuk menggabungkan peta, menganalisis jenis tutupan lahan dan jenis tanah di Kabupaten Merauke. Jenis tutupan lahan meliputi hutan, pertanian, sabana, dan lahan terbuka. Jenis tanah meliputi fluvisol eutrik, histosol eustrik, dan acrisol ferrik. Curah hujan dikategorikan sebagai sangat rendah, rendah, dan tinggi, dengan jenis tanah Eutric Histosols sebagai jenis tanah yang paling dominan.
