Abstract

Sisa makanan yang tidak habis dikonsumsi oleh pasien rawat inap masih merupakan masalah umum di rumah sakit. Hal ini dapat berdampak negatif pada status gizi pasien, yang dapat memicu komplikasi klinis, memperpanjang waktu pemulihan, meningkatkan durasi rawat inap, dan menambah biaya perawatan. Memahami faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi tidak habisnya makanan pada pasien rawat inap sangat penting untuk mengatasi masalah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang berhubungan dengan tidak habisnya makanan pada pasien rawat inap di Rumah Sakit Siti Khadijah Palembang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 44 pasien rawat inap yang dipilih menggunakan rumus slovin. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner yang mengevaluasi faktor-faktor eksternal dan internal yang berpotensi mempengaruhi tidak habisnya makanan. Uji Chi-square digunakan untuk menganalisis hubungan antara variabel-variabel yang diteliti. Hasil penelitian terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara keadaan psikis dengan tidak habisnya makanan didapatkan pvalue 0,019 (p<0,05). Hal yang sama, terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara makanan dari luar rumah sakit dengan tidak habisnya makanan didapatkan pvalue 0,000 (p<0,05). Analisis menunjukkan bahwa pasien dengan keadaan psikis yang abnormal cenderung tidak menghabiskan makanan yang diberikan selama perawatan di rumah sakit. Pasien yang mengonsumsi makanan dari luar rumah sakit juga cenderung menyisakan makanan yang disediakan oleh rumah sakit. Penelitian ini menggarisbawahi pentingnya penyesuaian menu rumah sakit dengan kondisi gizi dan preferensi rasa pasien untuk meningkatkan konsumsi makanan dan mencegah sisa makanan. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa kondisi psikologis pasien mempengaruhi tidak habisnya makanan dan faktor lainnya perlu dieksplorasi lebih lanjut dalam penelitian mendatang. This can have a negative impact on the patient's nutritional status, which can trigger clinical complications, prolong recovery time, increase the duration of hospitalization, and increase treatment costs. Understanding the factors that influence unfinished food on inpatients are very important to overcome this problem. This study aims to determine the factors associated with unfinished food in inpatients at Siti Khadijah Hospital, Palembang. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The study sample consisted of 44 inpatients selected using the Slovin formula. Data were collected using a questionnaire that evaluated external and internal factors that potentially affect unfinished food. The Chi-square test was used to analyze the relationship between the variables studied. The results of the study showed that there was significant relationship between psychological conditions with unfinished food obtained a p-value of 0.019 (p<0.05). The same thing, there was a significant relationship between food from outside the hospital with unfinished food obtained a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). The analysis showed that patients with abnormal psychological conditions tended not to finish the food provided during treatment at the hospital. Patients who consumed food from outside the hospital also tended to leave food provided by the hospital. This study underlines the importance of adjusting the hospital menu to the patient's nutritional conditions and taste preferences to increase food consumption and prevent leftovers food. This study also showed that the patient's psychological condition affects unfinished food and other factors need to be explored further in future studies.
