Abstract

The amount of violence and torture against animals from the past until now has become a serious problem for many countries in the world. The purpose of this research is to to explain teh role of PETA ( People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) as an NGO that protects animal rights to help overcome the problem of animal abuse in america in 2014-2020. This research uses a descriptive-qualitative method with the data collection technique use is the documentation method, namely looking for data regarding things or variables in the form of notes, books, newspaper, megazines, and so on (Siyoto & Sodik, 2015). By using the documentation method, the author will dig deeper into the specifed unit of analysis and answer the problem formulation. Based on the results of this writing, PETA’s role as implementers, Partnership, and Catalyst with the programs that have been implemented has made a positive impact by making many people aware of the importance of animal rights and providing a batter life for animals. Based on the result of this writing , the role of PETA by becoming implementers, partnership, and Catalyst with programs that have been implemented has had a positive impact by making many people aware of the importance of animal rights and providing a better life for animals but also seeing the other side of PETA which is considered extreme and hypocritical.KEYWORD : NGO, PETA, TREATMENT, ANIMAL
