Abstract

The objective of this research was to observe the growth and yield of vegetables as intercropping among gambir plant. The research was conducted on January 2004 to April 2004 at Toman village, Babat Toman, Musi Banyuasin district. Randomized Completely Block Design was used for this research and t-test method was used for analyzing data for parameters of vegetables. The vegetables as intercrops that was used as treatment were chilly, tomato, yard-long bean, and beans. The research result showed that there was no significant effect on growth and % yield of vegetables wich were cultured in polyculture at gambir 3 month. However corapaning to chilly and tomato legumer (yard-long beans and beans) have better influence to growth of gambir plant. Gambir plant growth better in polyculture than in monoculture.
