Abstract
This study investigates the expectations, experiences, and challenges faced by English as a Foreign Language (EFL) pre-service teachers during the Introduction to School Field (PLP) program at a Secondary School in Palembang, using David Kolb’s Experiential Learning Theory (2014) as a theoretical framework. Using a qualitative research approach with a case study design, the research focuses on how EFL pre-service teachers navigate their experiences throughout the PLP program and identifies the specific challenges they encounter. The data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed thematically using coding by adopting Kolb’s model of experiential learning, which emphasized the importance of direct experience in the learning process.
