Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedling response to foliar fertilizer application. The research was conducted at the experimental field of Agriculture Faculty, Sriwijaya University ffom UMAR HARUN and December 2005 to March 2006. The experimental design was Randomized Block Design with six treatments (five concentrations of foliar fertilizer formula and one control) and three replications. Each treatment within the replication consisted of two plants that were planted in two polybags. The fertilizer was applied every two weeks. Based on the analisys of variance, the foliar fertilizer formula did not significantly affect all the parameters, but according to the tabulation, the growth of the plant increased for all parameters. The result showed that foliar fertilizer whit the concentration 15 g was the optimal concentration for the growth of one year old oil palm.
