Abstract

Need of Fuel for Fisherman in icreasing nowdays, Diesel fuel is one offuel which needs for fisherman to go to sea. Since government the policy increasing price of fuel and it causes negalive impact for fisherman, hecause if that the economic condision of fisherman is getting worst. To solve high this impact about increasing price, Coastal Area of Indonesia there are many coconut trees can be utilized as alternative fuel and also called biofuel. Based on these ideas, conduct study of the effect of mixture ratio of coconut oil and diesel fuel to the calorific value, centane number, engine performance to determine fuel consumption and specific consumption by using generator engine type Diesel Engine RI 75 as a t es t fuel consumption with a mixture of coconut oil from 2,5 to 10 %. Mixing coconut oil is very influential for determining viscosity, density, calorific value and cetane number, the more oil that is mixed, the greater its value with the value of viscosity (3,026 cSt), the value of density (0.87182 g / ml), and cetane number (CN 47.0) obtained in the presentation a mixture of 10%, but the calorific value will be smaller with a calorific value (44 476 J / g). The amount of fuel consumption is affected by the load or rounds which are given, the more or larger given load on the engine, the less time is needed to fuel consumption while the amount of specific fuel consumption (SFC) so that more mixture coconut oil into diesel fuel, biodiesel coconut oil as direct use the more efficient on mixture of 10 % coconut oil most excellent.
