Abstract
One management approach to enhance water quality and optimize fish cultivation water involves introducing a recirculation and phytoremediation system. This study investigated the impact of Lemna sp. as a phytoremediator in the recirculation system for maintaining water quality during the rearing of climbing perch (Anabas testudineus). The study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with four treatments and three replications. The treatments involved using Lemna sp. at different weights in the recirculation system for rearing climbing perch: without Lemna sp. (P0), with Lemna sp. 40±0.5 g 40 L-1 water (P1), 50±0.5 g 40 L-1 water (P2), and 60±0.5 g 40 L-1 water (P3). The results showed that the treatment using Lemna sp. at 40±0.5 g 40 L-1 water was the most effective, with a turbidity of 13.87 NTU, dissolved oxygen 3.95 mg L-1, ammonia 0.03 mg L-1, nitrite 0.68 mg L-1, and nitrate 1.10 mg L-1. This treatment also showed the best results for absolute growth of length 0.70 cm, absolute growth of weight 0.84 g, feed efficiency 44.40%, and survival rate of fish 99.17%.
