Abstract
ARIANI INDAH SARI. The Growth of Climbing Perch (Anabas testudineus) at Different Stocking Densities in The Wastewater of Catfish (Clarias sp.) Culture (Was supervised by MIRNA FITRANI and FERDINAND HUKAMA TAQWA). Aquaculture activities lead to a higher accumulation of aquaculture wastewater from fish feces, metabolic waste, and uneaten feed. One solution is to reuse aquaculture wastewater as farming media for fish culture, such as climbing perch. This study aimed to find the best stocking density of climbing perch to be raised in catfish aquaculture wastewater. The research was conducted in January- February 2024 using a completely randomized design (CRD) with three treatments and three replications: 2 fish 2.5 L-1 wastewater (P1), 3 fish 2.5 L-1 wastewater (P2), and 4 fish 2.5 L-1 wastewater (P3). The results showed that stocking density of 2 fish 2.5 L-1 wastewater (P1) was the best treatment. The study reveals that during the rearing, the mean temperature value was 27.89±0.06°C, pH of 6.90±0.19, dissolved oxygen of 5.15± 0.25 mg L-1, ammonia of 0.034±0.020 mg L-1, nitrate of 22.33±12.33 mg L-1, total phytoplankton abundance value of 99.55 ind L-1, and total zooplankton abundance value of 30.66 ind L-1. The fish survival rate was also 100±0.00%, absolute length growth was 1.00±0.07 cm, and absolute weight growth was 0.93±0.06 g. Fish feed efficiency showed a high percentage, which is 72.48±7.03%. Thus, using catfish culture wastewater with optimum stocking density can be an alternative for aquaculture waste utilization. Keywords: climbing perch, cultivated wastewater, stocking density
