Abstract

This study examines "The Role of Social Institutions in the Implementation of the Vocational Rehabilitation Program for People with Disabilities in the City of Bina Daksa Budi Perkasa Palembang." The purpose of this study was to determine the role of social institutions in the implementation of vocational rehabilitation programs for people with disabilities. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis research method, while the number of employees in this study is 8 people. Data collection techniques carried out by observation, interview and documentation techniques. This study uses the Role Theory of David and Julia Jarry (1991). The results of this study found that the social institution of the mighty person has the role of the physically disabled person in providing services and rehabilitation to the person with disabilities in the form of vocational guidance in accordance with the purpose, the main tasks and functions of the Palembang people's mental health center to provide knowledge, and expertise and recovery of self-esteem, self-confidence, and the ability to interact with the community. So that people with disabilities can be independent and be able to play a positive role in bringing about social welfare and justice.
