Abstract

Pulmonary tuberculosis is still a global health problem, according to WHO in 2020 there are 10 million people in the world experiencing tuberculosis (TB) and 1.5 million people die from it. According to WHO in 2022 globally, 6 million cases were adult men and 3.4 million cases were adult women. The research used a descriptive ecological study method with a spatial analysis approach. Adult TB cases were most prevalent in the 55-65 year age group (19.3%) and fewer in the 15-24 year age group (14.3%), with the number of cases in men (3,815 cases). Of the total patients recorded, 4,479 patients underwent complete treatment, with 1,284 of them recovering. A total of 157 patients died, while 4 patients were not evaluated. Of the 42 existing health centers, 17 of them have achieved a cure standard of more than 90%. The highest cases were in Kecamatan Kemuning with 1072 cases with a population density of 8,993 km2. The least number of cases was in Gandus sub-district with 76 cases and a population density of 1,145 km2. Incidence Rate and Case Notification Rate (CNR) reached 460 cases per 100,000 adult population, with Case Fatality Rate (CFR) of 2.48%, Case Detection Rate (CDR) of 72.3%, and Tuberculosis Success Rate (TSR) of 91.3%. The conclusion of this study emphasizes the importance of proper TB management in various health facilities. The suggestion is the need to increase efforts in handling tuberculosis, especially in case management in various regions in Palembang City.
