Abstract

Learning motivation is a force of encouragement or desire that exists within an individual which is useful in helping the individual in achieving learning goals which will provide the results desired by the individual or student. Group guidance is a service providing assistance carried out by several people in one group with one person being the group leader or it can be carried out by a counselor or guidance counselor at school with a group dynamic relationship that will help members to build interactions between other members. The aim of this research is to find out whether group guidance services can help students increase their motivation to learn. The research approach used is quantitative with a quasi-experimental type. Data was collected using a questionnaire to obtain a sample and population. There are 2 groups or classes that will be studied, namely the experimental class and the control class. The results of the research carried out are that using guidance groups can help to increase student learning motivation at SMP N 2 Belitang III. Keywords: group guidance, motivation to learn
