Abstract
Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) is defined as a series of clinical symptoms of myocardial ischemia caused by a lack of blood flow to the myocardium, resulting in clinical symptoms such as chest pain, ST segment changes in the electrocardiogram (ECG), and changes in cardiac biomarkers. The initial diagnosis of ACS is made by ECG examination. An ECG is a test to measure and record the electrical activity of the heart. ECG can help estimate the extent of the ischemic area, distinguish subendocardial and transmural ischemic, and can help detect whether there is a previous infarction. This study used a descriptive research design using secondary data from the medical records of patients with acute coronary syndrome at Dr. Rivai Abdullah Hospital for the period January 1 - December 31, 2023.In this study, 86 patients with acute coronary syndrome were obtained with the majority of male gender (64%), aged 41-60 years (51.2%), had an elementary school background (46.5%), had housewives and farmers (25.6%), normal BMI (64%), and had a history of hypertension (66.3%). Based on ECG results, the majority of patients had ECG results classified as STEMI (55.8%) with the majority of infarct locations in the anteroseptal (60.4%). In patients classified as NSTEMI, the majority of patients had a T wave inversion (42.1%). The majority of patients in this study had ECG results classified as STEMI with the majority of infarct locations in the anteroseptal. In patients classified as NSTEMI, the majority of patients had a T inversion on ECG.
