Abstract
One of the causes of road damage is caused by the asphalt mixture compaction process which is not carried out at the right temperature, because this temperature change affects the characteristics of the marshall. To determine the mixing temperature and compaction temperature obtained from viscosity testing. This research method is in the form of a laboratory experiment using fly ash waste as a substitute for filler and bottom ash as a substitute for sand because fly ash and bottom ash have a fairly high silica content and pozzolan value, in addition fly ash has characteristics that are almost the same as cement as filler and bottom ash is almost the same as river sand. For the asphalt variations used are oil asphalt pen 60/70 and rubber asphalt SIR-20. From the results of the Marshall characteristic test, it was found that the mixture of laston AC-BC fly ash and bottom ash waste from Tanjung Enim PLTU with variations of SIR-20 rubber asphalt became a mixture with the most optimum stability value and Marshall Quotient (MQ) value with a mixing temperature of 170 ℃ and a compaction temperature of 159 ℃ with a stability value of 1530.6 Kg and an MQ value of 442.820 kg/mm. The stability, flow, VFA and MQ values will tend to increase if the mixing and compaction temperatures are increased, while the VIM and VMA values will tend to decrease if the mixing and compaction temperatures are increased.
