Abstract

Introduction: Neonatal sepsis is a clinical syndrome of systemic disease accompanied by bacteremia in infants within the first month of life. Neonatal sepsis is one of the main causes of morbidity and mortality, both in full-term and premature infants. Cases of neonatal sepsis in Indonesia are quite high, including in high-risk groups such as male infants. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of infants with neonatal sepsis at RSMH Palembang for the 2019-2020 period. Method: This study used observational analytic method with retrospective design. The study sample was the medical record data of all infant patients in the NICU and neonates of Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang who were taken using the total sampling technique. Result: From the results above, it can be seen that the most patients who experienced neonatal sepsis in RSMH Palembang were male, with age <7 days, who came from within Palembang City and were treated in the Neonatal room, who were successfully discharged, while the payment method used BPJS. Conclusion: This study shows the number of neonatal sepsis patients, the number of patients by gender, age, patient origin, patient ward, discharge method, and patient payment guarantor.
