Abstract
Limbah congo red bersifat karsinogenik, dan sulit dihilangkan. Limbah congo red dapat dihilangkan melalui proses adsorpsi Hidroksi Lapis Ganda-CdIn (HLG-CdIn) menjadi adsorben pertama kali yang berhasil dipreparasi dengan metode kopresipitasi. Spektrum FTIR menunjukkan -OH yang membuktikan terbentuknya HLG. Ion sulfit, ikatan -NH, dan ikatan C-C yang menunjukkan penyerapan congo red. Melalui uji BET menghasilkan luas permukaan 29.618 m2/g. Adsorben memiliki struktur layer berlapis dengan kandungan unsur dominan yaitu kadmium yang dibuktikan dengan uji SEM-EDX. Uji XRD menunjukkan puncak difraksi 15.38º ; 16.26º ; 36.68º adanya senyawa Cd(OH)2, puncak difraksi 30.42º adanya senyawa InOH3. pH optimum adsorpsi berada pada pH 8. Penyerapan congo red bereaksi endotermik dan spontan pada suhu tinggi. Model uji kinetika yang digunakan yaitu PSO. Adsorpsi terjadi pada permukaan heterogen dengan kapasitas penyerapan maksimum 192,31 mg/g. Regenerasi HLG-CdIn dapat dilakukan sebanyak 4 kali.
