Abstract

KRPL is a program of the Ministry of Agriculture to improve the welfare of Indonesian families through the utilization of the yard. The purpose of this program is to make the garden as a food production needed and increase household income. The program was implemented in Talang Keramat Model Village in 2011 and continued in 2012 in a period of mentoring. The principle of this program is the concept of sustainable farming that has been done by the community continued independently. This study was conducted to determine the impact o f the KRPL program for income and consumption pattems by comparing the variables before and after the program KRPL implemented. Data that used to describe the condition after the program is the data in 2013. It is to see how the people running the program KRPL independently, while the data before the program used the data in 2010. Data was processed from a sample of 30 families that taken randomly from the population of the Talang Keramat Village. The results showed that: (1) the household income after and before KRPL were Rp 19.043.670,00 and Rp. 18.153.921,13 per year. (2) the food consumption after and before KRPL were Rp 9.599.240,00 and Rp. 9.632.144,42 per year, while the non-food consumption after and before KRPL were Rp 7.347.466,66 and 6.513.275,07 per year. (3) KRPL impacted on increasing family income of Rp. 889.677,01, impacted on increasing non-food consumption of Rp. 834.191,60, and has no impacted on the overall decrease in food consumption. But KRPL has impacted on cost savings for the purchase of vegetables and kitchen herbs of Rp. 117.781.26 and 190.730.99. This austerity was accompanied by an increased in other types o f food needs.
