Abstract
The high temperature of the work environment can affect the fluid and electrolyte balance of workers, which affects urine production and results in an increase in urine concentration. If this condition lasts long enough to encourage the formation of urine crystals. The purpose of this research was to analyze the determinants of urine crystal formation in oil palm processing workers in the Betung Business Unit PTPN VII environment. The research population was 103 workers. The sample size in this research was the total population in which all populations were used as research samples, amounted to 103 workers. This research used a quantitative method, with a cross sectional design. The instrument of data collection in the form of questionnaires, interviews and observations, data were analyzed by multiple logistic degression. The results of the research showed that there were 18 workers with positive urine crystallization (17.5%). Characteristics of respondents were mostly <45 years old (68%), hydration status in the category of not dehydration (76.7%), work climate ≥ 29.40C (51.5%), consumption of drinking water more (51.5%) , and work period of ≥ 5 years (86.4%). The results of multiple logistic regression tests showed that the variable hydration status (PR = 6.788) was the most dominant factor affecting the formation of urine crystals after being controlled by work climate variables
