Abstract

The climbing perch (Anabas testudineus) is a swamp fish with great potential for cultivation. However, challenges such as low growth rates and inefficient feed utilization still need to be addressed. One solution to this problem is to add yeast to commercial feed. This research aimed to determine the optimal yeast dosage for climbing perch feed. The study was conducted at the Basic Fisheries Laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Fisheries Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Sriwijaya in June-July. The research followed a Completely Randomized Design with five treatments and three replications. The treatments included P0 (no yeast added to the feed), P1 (10 g of yeast per kg of feed), P2 (15 g of yeast per kg of feed), P3 (20 g of yeast per kg of feed), and P4 (25 g of yeast per kg of feed). The results indicated that P3 (20 g of yeast per kg of feed) was the best treatment, showing absolute growth in weight and length at 1.55 g and 1.10 cm, feed efficiency 41.21%, and survival rate 100%. Additionally, the water quality data for all treatments remained relatively suitable for rearing climbing perch fish. Key words: climbing perch, feed efficiency, growth, yeast
