Abstract

The number of microorganisms in the air is one of the main indicators of air pollution, these biological pollutants include pollen, mold, bacteria, and viruses. Through air conditioner ventilation, fans, coolers, and humidifiers, and human activities microorganisms can spread in the air. The Ministry of Health as a regulator strengthens efforts to improve environmental health, one of which is by implementing healthy airports aiming to achieve airport conditions that can prevent the potential risk of spreading diseases. The purpose of this study is to analyze the magnitude of the risk of exposure to the number of airborne microorganisms on the health of workers at the airport. This study is an observational research by conducting observations, interviews with respondents and taking air samples to calculate the number of airborne microbes. Air sampling was carried out at 120 sampling points in the terminal area of Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport Palembang with a total of 96 respondents. Air sampling using a Micro airflow device and carried out in July 2024 Data processing and analysis using the MRA (Microbial Risk Assessment) method to determine the magnitude of exposure risk received by workers at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II airport, Palembang. The stages in the MRA include the stages of hazard identification, exposure analysis, response dose analysis, and risk characterization, the results of the study showed an average concentration of Airborne Microorganisms of 1079 CFU/M3 above the standard value listed in Permenkes No. 2 of 2023 of 700 CFU/M3. The exposure dose that entered the respondents' bodies ranged from 9.17 CFU/kg/day to 38.05 CFU/kg/day and the average value was 18.33 CFU/Kg/M3. The risk level of this study, namely HQ < 1., shows that the risk agent is said to be not a risk to the health of workers. The conclusion of the MRA (Microbial Risk Assessment) analysis shows that the level of risk of exposure to indoor air microorganisms at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport Palembang for workers has not caused a negative impact on health Keywords: Airport, Indoor Air Quality, Air Microorganism Risk Analysis Bibliography: 68 (1998-2023)
