Abstract

The occurrence of vaginal discharge in adolescents is often considered normal, this happens because not all adolescents have good knowledge, to increase knowledge, it is needed interesting methods such as "MONOKROM" and "NEBULA". This study aims to determine the effect of the monopoly game "MONOKROM" and the crossword puzzle "NEBULA" in increasing the knowledge of adolescent girls about vaginal discharge. The research design used a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest control group design. The number of samples in this study were 66 adolescent girls who were divided into 2 groups, namely the "MONOKROM" intervention group and the "NEBULA" intervention group. The statistical test was used the Wilcoxon test which showed that there was a significant difference on the adolescent girls knowledge before and after being given health education on the monopoly game "MONOKROM" and the crossword puzzle "NEBULA" with a p value of 0.000 (a = <0.05). The results of the Mann Whitney test in both groups showed a p value = 0.306 (p > 0.05) which means there was no significant difference between the monopoly game "MONOKROM" and the crossword puzzle "NEBULA". This study showed that "MONOKROM" and "NEBULA" can increase the knowledge of adolescent girls about vaginal discharge as evidenced by the increased average knowledge of respondents. Therefore, to improve reproductive health, it is hoped that adolescent girls can apply the information that obtained through real actions to prevent pathological vaginal discharge after knowing the types, causes, prevention, and impacts of vaginal discharge.
