Abstract

The purpose of this research were 1) to calculate the working time allocation of conventional rubber farmer at Lais Village, North Lais Village, and Langkap Village, Musi Banyuasin District, South Sumatera, 2) to calculate the working time allocation of rubber farmer after changing to organic at Lais Village, North Lais Village, and Langkap Village, Musi Banyuasin District, South Sumatera, 3) to calculate the leisure time of conventional and after changing to organic rubber farmer at Lais Village, North Lais Village, and Langkap Village, Musi Banyuasin District, South Sumatera. The research was conducted in three villages,Lais Village, North LaisVillage, and Langkap Village of MusiBanyuasin District, South Sumatra using the survey method. The locationof this research was selected purposively with the consideration that this location is a region that its population dominated by rubber farmers and selected by PT. Medco E&P Indonesia Rimau Asset as areas subject to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. Data collecting process were conducted from January 2014 to September 2014. The data were collected in the form of primary and secondary data from interviews and supporting literatures. The sampling method used was “Simple Random Sampling”from the population of rubber farmers included in the group of that Corporate Social Responsibility programs inLais Village, North LaisVillage, and Langkap Village. The results of this research showed that the working time allocation conventional rubber farmers in Lais Village, North LaisVillage, and Langkap Village is at 234,98 HOK per year. This figure is derived from the cumulative calculation between of men labor, women labor, and child labor are doing conventional rubber farming. The working time allocation of rubber farmers after changing to organic in Lais Village, North LaisVillage, and Langkap Village is at291,30 HOK per year of the total force calculation men labor, women labor, and child labor. This figure is greater than the working time allocation conventional rubber farmers, amounting 56,31HOK per year. The leisure time is available to conventional rubber farmers in Lais Village, North LaisVillage, and Langkap Villageamounted 238,92 HOK/year. While the leisure time available to rubber farmers after changing to organic amounted to 182,60 HOK/year. The difference in the leisure time due to the addition of organic rubber farming activities in which the activity of making MOL and reduced pesticide spraying activities in conventional farming.
