Abstract

Coronary slow flow phenomenon(CSFP) is an angiographic entity characterized by delayed distal coronary vessel opacification without significant epicardial coronary stenosis. Triglycerides-Glucose Index (TyG) and Electrocardiogram Risk Score (ERS) have the potential to assess the risk of subclinical atherosclerosis underlying CSFP. Cross-sectional study involving 31 CSFP patients at Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Hospital Palembang. CSFP criteria are determined based on coronary blood flow slowdown on angiography. Data collection through anamnesis, physical examination, laboratory, echocardiography, and measurement of carotid artery intima media thickness (CIMT). Statistical analysis using SPSS 27. Of the 31 CSFP patients, 51.6% were male with a mean age of 50.87 ± 13.94 years. The main risk factors included dyslipidemia (77.4%), hypertension (35.5%), smoking (22.6%), and diabetes mellitus (6.5%). Statistical analysis showed a significant positive correlation between TyG index and CIMT (r = 0.445, p = 0.012), and between ERS and CIMT (r = 0.476, p = 0.007). TyG and ERS indices were positively correlated with CIMT in CSFP. This study supports the use of TyG and ERS indices in cardiovascular risk evaluation and early identification of patients at high risk for subclinical atherosclerosis and potential CSFP.
