Abstract

The low mathematical reasoning ability of students is one of the reasons for the use of a learning model that is not supportive. This study aims to describe the mathematical reasoning ability of students on row and series materials after the application proof-based learning with APOS theory. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Belitang II. The subject of this study is a student of class X.I. The method used is quantitative descriptive research with data collection through a written test. Based on the test results, it was found that the results of students' mathematical reasoning ability in class X.I SMA Negeri 1 Belitang II were students with a low category of 9 students (29.03%), students with moderate mathematical reasoning ability totaling 19 students (61.29%) and students with a high mathematical reasoning ability category totaling 3 students (9.68%). In the results of student answers, many students do not even write the answers on certain numbers, have difficulty taking advantage of time so that they are in a hurry when they reach the end, and are not careful in doing calculations.
