Abstract
This study aims to determine the political communication strategy PDI Perjuangan in supporting the pair Dodi Reza Alex Noerdin and Giri Ramanda Kiemas in the regional elections of South Sumatra in 2018. This research uses qualitative research methods, with data collection techniques using in-depth interviews and documentation studies based on theoretical references political communication strategy according to Anwar Arifin which has 3 dimensions. Starting from the first dimension, namely figures and institutions which have 2 indicators, they are figure analysis and institutional analysis, with the aim of identifying each of the two indicators. Second, the dimension of creating togetherness which has 4 indicators, namely understanding the audience, composing persuasive messages, establishing methods, and sorting and selecting media with the intention of determining constituent segmentation in determining message content so that it can establish appropriate methods for sorting and selecting media. And finally, the dimension of building consensus that has two indicators namely the art of compromise and being willing to open up with the intention of resolving conflicts that are internal and external to the party.
