Abstract
Tuberculosis (TB) is a chronic infectious disease that has a serious impact on global health. Indonesia has the second highest rate in the world. In West Lampung Regency, tuberculosis cases in 2023 have increased. Spatial analysis is useful for describing the pattern of spread of TB cases as well as the spatial relationship between factors affecting TB and areas at risk. This research is an ecological study with a descriptive approach, using spatial analysis through the QGIS application and the overlay method. The data used included the population of TB cases in 15 sub-districts in West Lampung Regency, sourced from the secondary data of the Tuberculosis Information System at the West Lampung Regency Health Office and data from the West Lampung Regency Statistics Bureau) in 2023. The results of this study identified Balik Bukit with the highest number of cases (214 cases), while TB cases were mostly found in males (289 cases) compared to females (199 cases). Kebun Tebu sub-district had the highest population density (347.52 people/km²) with 36 TB cases, although Balik Bukit had the highest number of cases and lower density (285.57 people/km²). The 667m above sea level area of Balik Bukit recorded 214 cases of TB, while Pagar Dewa, which has an altitude of 457m above sea level, recorded 6 cases. A total of 1,521 contact histories were recorded, with Balik Bukit sub-district recording the highest number of 600 contact histories with TB patients. Lombok Semuning sub-district achieved 100% complete treatment of 10 cases, while Sekincau recorded the lowest complete treatment of 14.6% of 37 cases. Balik Bukit, which has a high male population, population density, and high altitude areas as well as high contact history and lack of complete treatment, showed higher TB rates. Increased surveillance, complete treatment, and counseling in areas with high TB cases, such as Balik Bukit, is needed to reduce transmission rates and improve treatment adherence.
