Abstract

Background: Chronic renal failure is a disorder of kidney function that is permanent or irreversible. This condition occurs when the body fails to maintain metabolic processes and fluid and electrolyte balance, which can eventually lead to uremia. Globally, the prevalence of chronic renal failure is estimated at 10% of the total population. Methods: This analytical study of correlation design with cross sectional design was conducted from September to November 2024. There were 55 samples in thes study. All data were processed and analyzed using SPSS v27. Results: The of the study mostly consisted of age <60 years (81.8%), female gender (58.2%), 55 study patients underwent hemodialysis for 5 hours. Most of the patients with chronic kidney failure were caused by diabetes mellitus (45.5%). The average blood sugar before hemodialysis in DM patients was 287,80 mg/dl and in hypertension patients 159,04 mg/dl blood sugar after hemodialysis in DM patients was 202,76 mg/dl and in hypertension patients 117,69 mg/dl with p-value <0.001. The most influential factors for diabetes mellitus were age <60 years (40%) and female gender (27.3%). Conclusion: Based on the of the study, most of the study of them were <60 years old (81.8%), female gender (58.2%), and 55 patients performed hemodialysis for 5 hours.
