Abstract

Curly red chili is a valuable agricultural commodity in Indonesia, with high market demand. Assessing its contribution to the welfare of farming households is essential to understand its economic impact. The purposes of this research were (1) calculating the total income of curly red chili farmers households in Pedu Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, (2) calculating the contribution of curly red chili income to the total income of curly red chili farmers households in Pedu Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, and (3) analyzing the curly red chili farmers households welfare level in Pedu Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency. This research was conducted in Pedu Village, Jejawi District, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency in November 2024. The research method was a survey method with simple random sampling method. The data used were primary and secondary data. The results of this study were (1) the average total income of curly red chili farmer households in Pedu Village was Rp13.615.306,00/month or Rp163.383.672,00/year, (2) the contribution of curly red chili farming income to the total income of curly red chili farmer households in Pedu Village was high, which was 80.93%, (3) The average Decent Living Needs Standard in Pedu Village was worth Rp2.189.148,00/month and for each curly red chili farmer households in Pedu Village was Rp6.362.211,00/month, the curly red chili farmers welfare level in Pedu Village was relatively high because out of 32, 75% or 24 farmer households were prosperous, and 25% or 8 others were not prosperous.
