Abstract
Nanosilica is a particle of silica (SiO2) with nano size, usually nanosilica size ranges from 1-100 nanometers (nm). The extraction process is one of the processes that can produce nanosilica, the extraction process is the process of separating a component of a substance from its mixture using a solvent. In the extraction process, silica can be separated from fly ash, in this study the extraction process uses a heating method that will use acid and base solutions in the form of hydrochloric acid (NaCl), NaOH solution and aquades. This study used variations in soaking time of 3 hours, 4 hours, and 5 hours. This study uses microstructure testing to analyze the extraction results in the form of X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), X-Ray Fluorescence (XRF), and Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM). Long soaking times produce more crystals and larger sizes. Based on the results of the optimum time test, the best one was soaked for 3 hours which had a silica content of ±31%. Samples with a soaking time variation of 3 hours had a silica content of ±31% with a crystal size of 76.43 nm and 86.45% amorphous.
