Abstract

The State of the Russian Federation is a state that has the same territorial dimensions as most of the countries of the other nations which consists, sea, land and air. Today, the State of Russia is at least able to protect its two dimensions, the land and sea well because it is supported by strong and large number of weaponry but in another hand, the other dimension which is the air is still said to have not enough quantity and quality of air power to protect the entire territory of the state of the Russia, which is notabene as a state with the largest territory. Not only to protect its territory, the air power also has a deterrent function and as a tool to solve the Security Dilemma that currently occured in Russian Federation , which is currently facing the security problem of the threat of the NATO military forces as a defence pact formed to counter the influence and interests of Russia since the era of the Soviet Union, which at the moment the NATO airpower still outperforms the Russian air power. Therefore, the Russian federation needs to modernize and develop new airpower weaponry such as the Fifth Generation Fighter and Hypersonic Missiles that can at least result in the effect of Balance of Threat to NATO in order to safeguard and protect the interests, security and sovereignty of the State of the Russia Federation.
