Abstract

Reinforced concrete thin walls in solving structural problems can be used as an important alternative, especially in resisting cyclic loading. SCC concrete can flow throughout the structure without vibrating devices, so SCC concrete can be a solution to compaction in reinforced concrete walls. This study aims to analyse the effect of wing dimensions and reinforcement on the performance of SCC thin walls. Research on structural element analysis was conducted using ANSYS. The analysis carried out in this study uses the finite element method. The output of the analysis is in the form of hysteresis curves, maximum story drift, ductility, stiffness, and cumulative energy dissipation. The structural strength of concrete thin walls with normal concrete was compared with the structural strength performance of concrete thin walls using variations of self compacting concrete with variations in wing dimensions and reinforcement. MSCC modelling, without wings, and DS@130 were able to achieve the same drift ratio as M2T modelling compared to DS@65. All modelling models were classified as high ductility demand and the highest ductility value was achieved by DS@130 modelling at 23.981. The highest cumulative energy dissipation value is owned by DS@130 modelling because it has the highest drift ratio value. The results show that variations in wing dimensions and reinforcement affect the performance of the structure in resisting cyclic loads.
