Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the use of ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome (Curcuma mangga Val) on anti-inflammatory in mice (Mus musculus) Swiss Webster Strain. The method used is an experimental method with a completely randomized design (RAL) design consisting of 5 treatments and 6 replicates. The treatment consisted of one negative control group (Aquades), one positive control group (celexocib dose 0.13 mg/kgBB), and three test groups given ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome at a dose of 2.8 mg/kgBB; 5.6 mg/kgBB; and 11.2 mg/kgBB, each treatment was given orally 15 minutes before inducing 1% egg white solution. Data were analyzed using One Way Annova test and Duncan's test. The results of One Way Annova analysis showed that ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome had a very significant effect on anti-inflammatory. The results of the Duncan test show that the ethanol extract of temu mango rhizome in a dose of 11.2 mg/kgBB has a percentage of edema inhibition of 55% which is the most optimal dose in inhibiting inflammation. Information on the results of this study can be useful teaching materials and the results are contributed in the form of LKPD on the material of the immune system of Biology high school class XI.
