Abstract
This study analyzes the influence of shear reinforcement on nanocomposite polymer flat slabs under monotonic loading using numerical simulations in ANSYS software. The flat slab is a beamless structural system widely used in modern construction but is vulnerable to shear forces, particularly punching shear. To address this issue, shear reinforcement is used as a solution to enhance structural resistance. Nanocomposite polymer is utilized as an alternative material due to its high strength, corrosion resistance, and superior mechanical properties compared to conventional concrete. Numerical simulations were conducted by comparing flat slab models without shear reinforcement and with various shear reinforcement ratios. The analysis includes deformation, stress distribution, and the relationship between load and deflection. The results indicate that shear reinforcement significantly improves the slab’s shear capacity and resistance to monotonic loading. Additionally, nanocomposite polymer exhibits better energy absorption and reduces the risk of failure due to shear forces.
