Abstract

Dalam sebuah sistem Visible light communication (VLC) untuk pengaplikasian di perairan membutuhkan sumber daya listrik yang andal untuk menunjang dan memastikan modem VLC dapat bekerja dengan sebagaimana mestinya. Keterbatasan sumber listrik di lokasi perairan menjadi tantangan utama dalam pengoperasian modem VLC diperairan. Dipenelitian ini rancangan dan sistem suplai energi berbasis panel surya untuk mendukung daya operasional dari modem VLC telah berhasil dibuat. Rancangan sistem ini terdiri dari sel surya sebagai sumber utama energi, baterai sebagai penyimpan daya, serta pengontrol pengisisan daya untuk mengatud distribusi energi. Pengujian untuk mengetahui kebutuhan daya dan energi maksimum oleh modem VLC dilakukan dengan cara mengukur tegangan, arus dan daya yang dikonsumsi oleh modem VLC. Modem VLC terdiri dari modem I yang berisikan tiga komponen utama yaitu arduino uno, nodemcu dan laser dioda serta terdapat modem wi-fi yang digunakan sebagai sumber jaringan nodemcu dan modem II terdiri dari arduino uno, beberapa sensor dan laser dioda. Kebutuhan energi dari kedua modem berhasil dipenuhi dalam penelitian ini.
