Abstract

This study aims to analyze the daily inventory calculation procedure of Avtur at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Aviation Fuel Terminal SMB II, which plays a vital role in ensuring the availability of aircraft fuel at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang, to support the smooth operation of flights. This procedure involves the proper management of Avtur stock to prevent disruptions in flight schedules that could harm airlines, passengers, and the local economy, while also ensuring operational cost efficiency at the airport. Accurate calculation processes are crucial to avoid imbalances between fuel demand and availability, which could result in stock shortages or excesses, leading to additional costs, flight delays, and financial losses. Challenges faced include data input errors, delays in shipment, and logistics distribution. Recommendations include implementing an automatic validation system and providing training for staff to minimize errors. To address shipment delays and logistics distribution, the company should use tracking technology and establish a flexible distribution network with backup fleets, as well as have an emergency plan to deal with adverse weather conditions.
