Abstract
The aim of researchs were to determine the growth and production of some maize genotypes which were efficient in nutrient up take in the highlands. The research was conducted in March 2016 until July 2016 in Pagar Agung village South Ogan Komring Ulu. The methodologi being used was randomized block design. The genotypes which were used were A1, A13, A4, A40, B35, B52953, C3, C33 and C36, while for varieties were Lamuru, Sukmaraga and Hibrida. The parameters being observed were plant height, leaves color, cob length, cob diameter, number of rows per cob, number of seeds per row, number of grains per cob, weight of 100 seeds, heavy cob, shelled weight per cob, harvest index and production per hectare. Growth of genotypes A4, A40 and C36 were better than Lamuru variety and Hybrid. Production of genotype A40 was better than Lamuru variety and Hybrid, whereas genotypes B52953, C33 and C36 was better than Lamuru. Growth and production Sukmaraga variety were better than all genotypes.
